African Footprints Initiatives - also known as Nyayo za Mwafrika,is a grassroots-driven movement focused on community empowerment, environmental sustainability, Pan-African centred knowledge, and indigenous self-reliance for desired changes in Tanzania and Global Africa.

The movement operates political education and study circles that aim to organize, agitate, and educate communities for African socio-economic changes. Our work is grounded in the Ujamaa philosophy of collective and shared prosperity.

Functions of AFI Movement

What We Do

  • Promote, protect, and defend humanity and dignity of all people in Tanzania and Global Africa.
  • Advocate for women, peace, and security while discouraging war in Global Africa, and Tanzania in particular.
  • Advocate for changes and improvements in various socio-economic sectors for the betterment of our people.
  • Promote and uphold ideals and thoughts of indigenous Africa relating to human sustainability.
  • Reinvigorate the concept of people-centred change through engaging in community sustainability.
  • Promote and actively engage in eco-friendly practices for today and future growth of generations.
  • Stimulate broad public engagement in Global Africa and world solidarities.
  • Build the spirit of community service among young people through volunteerism — "education for service not for selfishness."
  • Encourage creativity and innovation in the children and youth of Global Africa.
  • Build centres for vocational training, science and technology innovation hubs, and Pan-African school of thoughts.
  • Promote political education and book reading habits beyond school examinations by building libraries.
  • Raise funds and seek solidarities for promoting activities of the organisation on terms compatible with its autonomy and social-educational objects.
